I always enjoy walking through the mercado downtown. We usually take the city bus from El Cid to downtown. Lots to see and to buy! More

If you've grown up in white-bread America and have never been to a market in another country, you really must go! The produce is beautiful, the crafts are local and interesting. But my favorite is the pig heads and the full cows being butchered on site. Something everyone should experience! More

The market was a great place - authentic and variety of options from food, to touristy items, to every day items. Also, if you visit Mexico you HAVE to have one of their real fruit frozen bars - and... More

We really enjoy mingling where the locals buy their food stuff, and in Mazatlan this is the place. If you ever watch Anthony Bourdain, this is the kind of market he would stroll through during his show No Reservations. More

I went here with my fiance when we visited Mazatlan last summer (June 07) and we had a blast! I think that the market is the best way to experience a culture. It is always fun to see the different foods available to the locals. There is also a ton of cheap goods being sold. Where else can you see... More

Very interesting to see, but you do not want to spend too much time there. DO NOT go to the bathroom there! One of us paid 3 pesos to a lady for some toilet paper to use the "hole" in the ground. The Cathedral is across the street (SW) and across from the cathedral is a 3 level department store... More
