I know, I know --- it's a church not Disneyland but I thought it was just plain and quaint. Nothing to write home about. I have been to some spectacular churches and missions in my travels and just felt blah about this one. Don't strike me down but if you miss it - no biggie.

The Misione de Nuestra Senora de Pilar is a beautiful, well preserved mission church. It won't take much of your time to see the church, so stop by and have a look inside. The stained glass windows and the simple decorations are very beautiful.

Yes, this is the mission that is mentioned in the famous Eagle's song, Hotel California. As a matter of fact, the hotel and restaurant are just down the block from the mission, and I'm sure you could "hear the mission bells" from either. While the interior may seem bland to some - consider this mission's age and standing within the community and symbolically it's above all other structures. Well taken care of and I've been there for Mass before - all are welcome whether native or tourist.
