A nice enough beach, but not as nice as Cane Garden. However, when the cruise ship hordes are overrunning Cane Garden, it's a good alternative.
Walk by the azure sea on the pristine white sand while pelicans dive to catch fish out of the sunny Caribbean Sea. Does it get any better than this? During our stay at Long Bay Resort, we had both breakfast and dinner at their restaurant. Very good service and well prepared meals. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere with excellent service.
We got lucky again and were the only ones on this huge stretch of beach. (no ships). Watch out for the rip tides when swimming. Also, a nice little walk at the very end. Cut though the palm trees.
The water is turquoise, and you can walk out quite far and still stand. The one downside is there are a lot of rocks where the hotel beach is, so be careful, and the waves are quite strong. You talk about a postcard perfect beach. Beautiful water and nice wave action. The biggest problem is there are only 2 parking spots off the road and would you believe we always got one of them.
This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen....the far side of the beach, which is away from Long Bay Hotel is to die for....sugar white sand, turquoise, see thru water, no rocks. Watching and walking this beach is just great...very beautiful. We stayed in a cabana right on the beach for ten nights and never tired of it! For swimming though...take caution. It can be rough, and somewhat rocky. It's a north facing beach and when the surf is up, swimming there is sometimes dangerous. Note too that there are no lifeguards... More
