Nice walk to some nice small falls. no more / no less. My suggestions is to use the upper path and not the lower one. It is steeper but not as busy.

The trail was paved and easy, with a few slippery and narrow spots. The problem was the amount of people on the trail, which made for a very unpleasant walk. Once at the falls, you could not get near them for the amount of people there. I would advise taking this walk early in the morning, mid week when most...

My 4 year old could do the trail. It is well paved and there are some signs explaining the dynamics of a forest such as that of the yunque. Worth considering if that is the only thing you have time for.
We took the La Mina trail down, and the Big Tree Trail back to another parking lot, where we waited for the rest of the group to pick us up with the Jeep. Some of the big trees are HUGE! Placards have nice info on the forest and its inhabitants.
This trail is advertised as being paved but that is a stretch. It does have a rock/cement/gravel walkway so it's not dirt pack however due to the type of material and the moisture from the rain forest, this path is slippery and could be dangerous. Some of the larger stones get wet and it is nearly impossible to maintain your...

It's concrete, scraped to prevent it from being slick. Great shape, switchbacks to lessen the hills. Scenic views along the way. Very surprised how nice it was, since its in a rain forest. Take this to La Mina Falls.
The Big Tree trails is a nice easy walk on a paved pathway through the rain forest. The display signage along the trail-side is interesting, if a little faded and outdated.
The trail is about 0.8 miles (about 30 -40 minutes) one way. Supposed to be one of the most popular trails. The trail is paved and has information signs, so quite easy to navigate. You can see various types of trees, insects and lizards along the way.The trail ends at the La Mina Falls (Cascada La Mina).
i loved trekking the big tree trail. i was doing it for the first time. its a forest but there is enough sunlight seeping through ..had a good time walking up to the lamina falls. would def recommend this place.
I think the trail was .7 miles or so and took you to La Mina falls. Some portions of the trail were steep but they are manageable. The trail was paved so it was easy to follow. The trees and vegetation along the route were beautiful and the sounds of the forest were amazing! I would recommend this trail.
