The El Yunque National rainforest is a fantastic way to spend a day in Puerto Rico. It truly is beautiful. My 2 sons(9&6) had a great time hiking through the forest, swimming in La Mina waterfall and climbing the rocks at Coco falls. The views from Yohaku tower are amazing as well. Also there is a great visitor center to... More

I thought the groups were too large and didn't see much in the short time period. I woud prefer going with friends/family and doing you own tour.

We drove through the rain forest after visiting a nice visitor's center. Films are shown in various languages. My husband and I (in 70's) walked the trail to La Mina Falls. Going down can be a bit slippery (it rains in the rain forest; we put on our raincoats and used umbrellas--downpour). Wear appropriate shoes and you will be fine.... More

The rain forest made a nice day trip. Be careful of the tolls if you drive a rental car there. All tolls are paid electronically only. Ask if your rental has the toll sticker. We didn't know it did. We thought we were paying the toll, but were actually loading more money on the sticker. We handed the guy $20,... More

This was a great adventure for us. The best part is that it was free. Skip the first visitor center, they charge $4 a person to get in for unimpressive exhibits. The last visitor center (I think Palo Colorado) is free and has maps of all the trails. This is so easy to do on your own. DO NOT pay... More

Robert, our guide, was extremely personable and informative. He shared lots of historical, cultural and demographic information, and pointed out sights along the way to the rain forest. The rain forest was beautiful, but more time was allotted for the gift shop stop than for other stops along the way up to the actual rain forest. We spent precious little... More

The walk through the jungle was nothing at all as I expected. Unfortunately, we did not see many animals, but we did see some exotic flowers and plants. All in all, it was an ok tour, but not super exciting.

We signed up with Elegant Steering while we visited Puerto Rico and loved our tour guide, Michelle. Not only did she explained everything about the rain forest but she took the time to point out other important businesses and educated most of us about the history of Puerto Rico. We loved her bubbly personality and the extra time she gave... More
