The estate was a working spice factory in the 17th century and is now a very interesting insight into the processes and uses of the many spices grown on the island. The guides show you such things as nutmeg and cocoa and explain their uses. There is no entry charge and there is the opportunity to buy some of the... More

A former cocoa processing estate that's clearly very former; you'll enter a long, semi-derelict wooden shack to be shown and talked through a variety of local fruits and spices for about 10 minutes. Dougaldston Estate is working living museum. Great atmosphere and I loved the old lady. You learn a lot about Grenadas spices.....highly recommended. More

We hired a cab to drive us around Grenada for 4 hours and this was one stop along the way. We had an elderly woman who used to work on the plantation give us a quick overview of the spices on Grenada as well as how they're harvested. Also, our cabbie was pretty familiar with how things worked too. Highlights... More
