Saw many whales on our recent visit, some very close up, which was great. The water was swelling that day, and we had quite a few seasick people, but well worth the trip. More

Very rough waters, no warnings before getting on but offered sickness tablets and had to wear a life jacket. Seen 2 whales but good distance away, would never go on another trip on the waters in Samana, although other people booked with Samana Whale down at the quayside and they had some good experiences when the water was calm. Humpback whales arrive to breed in mid January. You do get to see them and if you're lucky (we were) the sight of one leaping out of the water is truly spectacular. More
