Old Havana is the most unique city I have come across. It has a certain haunting style that lingers with you forever and you want to go back for more...no wonder writers and musicians in the past got stuck there. This is the place to stay in when visiting the city- the old town. We stayed at The Hotel Plaza-... More

We took a walking tour of Old Havana, visiting all five of the main plazas. Almost all of the buildings that border the plazas are completely restored. Many are now restaurants. Because the bones of the buildings are so beautiful, the results of restoration are marvelous. The government is plowing foreign exchange from tourism back into preservation - to make... More

It is a charming place to just wander around - the buildings, some crumbling, some well restored are amazing. Also the 50's american cars - some patched together by filler, some restored brilliantly with gleaming chrome.

The squares are surrounded by what will be fabulous buildings once all the restoration has been done. Now is the time to visit I would image prices will sour when all the work is finished

Absolutely authentic and unspoiiled, currently under a very slow renovation phase. Fascinating walk through history. Make sure you get a guide from Havanaturs and go on the walking tour, ours was brilliant.

Plenty to see and do and lots of interesting history, This is where the majority of the better condition old American cars are based.

I like history. It was raining the day we went so I am writing from memory of our visit in 2009. I enjoyed it.
