First of all Lepakshi is in Anantapur district, Andhra pradesh and not linked to Antarvedi which is in Godavari district, A.P. I visited this excellent temple of Vijayanagara period in december,2012. It took me nearly 8 hrs to reach here from Tirupathi, but was worth it. But this place is pretty close to Bangalore city ( around 100 km) on... More

The temple is not very big and infact is easy to miss if you drive on towards Hindupur - ofcourse anyone in Lepakshi towm will guide you towards the temple. But the temple is very ancient and is excellent for it's architecture - Pillars, paintings and the sculpture. Sadly the grand marriage hall had to be stopped as the Vijayanagara... More

Went there thinking for doing some photography over there, It is i a nice place for doing photography. Road till the temple is very good. I would say a must visit place for once. But would suggest to include it along with another place, as if you are just visiting there, it will not take more then an hour to... More

Went to Lepakshi & definitely good from temple perspective but from tourist spot perspective exclusively need to rethink considering travelling all the way from Bangalore. As a tourist you can observe rich engravings in the temple wall but temple is not that big enough like an historical fort also that you can spend 2 hours. Considering the travel time from... More

Very nice temple campus. Worth visiting. The temple is in a small village about 15 odd km from the highway NH7. You would first see a Huge Nandi and a beautiful lotus pond nearby before visiting the main temple. You could spent 1-2 hrs in the campus itself.

Lepakshi is located in Ananthpur district, AP. Close proximity to Bangalore (~120 km) makes a quick getaway. One can reach Lepakshi by taking Hyderabad Highway (NH7). One can also club Nandi hills and Lepakshi in one day trip. Lepakshi is around 80 km from Nandi Hills. Roads are pretty good till Bagepalli. A diversion from highways leads to Lepakshi via... More

Lepakshi is a stunner... a beautiful stone temple, which includes a hooded snake lingam, huge nandi statue, a sixty pillar unfinished stone kalyana mantapa, lot of mural paintings.. a perfect 1 day getaway from a busy schedule, so close to namma bengaluru which makes it a must visit place! PS: there are no good restaurants/eateries in and around Lepakshi :-(

While attending one of the functions in Bagepalli Town, we had a chance to Visit Lepakshi Temple which is in Border of Andhra-Karnnataka. The Nandi on the way to Temple is majestic. Stnding Pillar is the attraction of Lepakshi where people say pillar was not touching the ground only. Over all a nice Temple. Road from Bangalore is excellent. We... More
