We arrived at Trail Head at 8.30am from free shuttle bus - You cannot drive up from March unless you are rich (staying at the Zion Lodge), It runs around every 7-10 minutes. The trail Head is Weeping Rock and the walk is 8 miles long return. Considered strenuous by the grade, but if fit would not be any problem.... More

The views are spectacular and the trail was always wide enough that I felt comfortable on it despite the sheer drop offs. On the way, you travel through Echo canyon, which is a narrow canyon. It was fun and on a hot day, steep narrow walls provide shade. The colors in the rocks at various points of the trail are... More

This can be a family hike which is only about 1 mile up and 1 mile back. This hike is less busy than Angels Landing, mainly due to the lack of parking. You get amazing views within a very short distance. Although appropriate for family hikes, make sure you keep your children close by your side as there are some... More

This was the best hike we did during our trip to Zion. The trail takes you through narrow canyons and up a steep trail to the plateau with plenty of beautiful views along the way. Observation Point is higher in elevation than Angel's Landing and gives you a wonderful view of Zion National Park. It's a very cool hike that... More

A good four hour hike. Make sure to take a lot of water and a bite to eat. I was with teens but intrepid families with younger kids and older couples seemed to enjoy the hike as well.

Observation Point is the best hike at Zion. I recommend if hiking in the summer that you start before 9:00 AM so your climb has shade at the start. It took us 3 hours to reach the point taking photos on the way up & 2 hours to return hiking with 2 adults & 3 teenagers. The trail begins with... More

Even though he it appeared we would be fine, we were glad to have cleats to strap on. Most didn't have them and were pretty envious of ours!

Zion is breathtakingly beautiful from nearly every aspect, but the Observation Point hike (8 miles roundtrip) is stunning. My husband and I did start the hike from the parking lot at Weeping Wall (a side trail about 1/4 mile and easy). Just read Steve C's review about an alternative starting point--you may want to check that out if you don't... More

I'm in my mid-40s and in reasonably good, though not great, shape. The hike to Observation Point is not easy, but it was also not terrible. It's long, but if you take time to see the sights along the way, you'll see a lot more than just the incredible ending view, which looks down on Angels landing. During the hike... More

This is one of the great views of Zion National Park. Most people make the arduous hike from the bottom of the Canyon, but there is an easier way. Go through the Park tunnel and turn on the North Fork road. Follow the signs for the Zion Ponderosa Ranch. Go past the lodge and follow the road to the Observation... More
