Paradise is a must see but, the surrounding trails and views of Sunrise are yet better. You can veer off from the road to Paradise and follow the plates to Sunrise half way around the mountain for about 15mi. The road has no guard rails and needs attention, albeit in great shape and absolutely not dangerous, if open to traffic... More

Sunrise center allows you to get so close to Mount Rainier. There are such a variety of trails and vistas to choose from. The ranger will have trouble picking on e for you. This was the lesser of the two main visitor center, but it got very crowded at mid-day in August. We did Mt. Burroughs trail to Shadow Lake... More

This was my first drive to Sunrise Visitor Center. Always had been to Paradise side but never here. I definitely was amazed to see the beautiful Rainier much closer from here. This is the highest point you can reach by car. Driving to Paradise- Rainier has more open views compared to drive to Sunrise. But both have their own beauty... More

This place is so beautiful you have to see it if you go to Mount Rainier! You can see one of the 26 glaciers on the mountain from there, and also you can look down and see a gorgeous glacier lake! I think you can also hike down to it! This is a place that you can drive right up... More

Flowers are everywhere in mid-late July. The trails past frozen lake to the ridge or valley are spectacular this time of year. Check at the visitors center to find out about trail conditions, timing, and the weather before starting out.

This is right in our back yard. Wow everytime I go up there there is more flowers to see. This area is well kept and with the number of people that go up there it is nice to see how well it is maintained.

I was here few days back and frankly I would say I loved Sunrise side than the Paradise. There were less people, lots of parking space, much stunning panoramic views, two glaciers to view and beautiful wildflowers. Felt Just like in Switzerland but without cows. I was a bliss to walk around the trail, take pictures and eat at the... More

I agree this side of Mt Rainer from Sunrise was quite spectacular. The Glaciers are very impressive. Sunny day and could see the top with no clouds on top. The Wild flowers are beautiful. The Snack Cafe could be better and cost of food is high for what you get.

Really liked this area. About 1.5 hours from Paradise but worth the drive. Great views of the mountain and the snack bar is quite good for a lunch there. Awesome hiking trails abound and a great visitor center.
