Get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a championship team and carving a life in Alaska's Interior. We LOVED our tour at the Husky Homestead. It was wonderful to learn more about this famous sport, see the championship dogs and meet dedicated , professional individuals. It is obvious that only the best come out of the Husky Homestead! Jeff King is funny and entertaining and definitely didn’t disappoint! My only regret was that we didn’t get to... More

I am probably one of very few visitors to the Husky Homestead who chose not to hold a cuddly puppy. Even though I'm just not that into puppies, I enjoyed this attraction. It was informative, and at times humorous and even motivational. The program began with an outdoor talk about the dogs and a demonstration. We then moved inside where... More

This was the best thing we did on our three week trip to Alaska. Jeff is informative and entertaining. His staff is well trained and knowledgeable. Don't miss this tour!

Having always been interested in the Iditarod but knowing very little about it, I thought it would be interesting to take this tour while visiting Denali. WOW! Was I in for a treat. Not only did we meet Jeff King - a 4 time champion of the Iditarod - but we also had a short explanation of the event and... More

One of the best stops on our Alaska adventure. Jeff King gives a great presentation and illuminates the rugged and unique life of a musher. Very entertaining and funny. We are now ardent fans of Jeff and his wonderful dogs.

The show is good, the puppies are great. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable but not overly enthusiastic. No dog-powered cart ride for visitors though.

Thank you for your comments! We at Husky Homestead apologize for any perception you may have garnered that rides would be given during your visit with us. We had no idea what to expect when we selected Jeff King's Homestead as a side trip while we were in Denali in August of 2008. Our expectations were meet and exceeded. The story of the dogs and the history of mushing was certainly explained to us in an wonderful environement. We'll never forget holding those wonder puppies and meeting... More

My squadron spent a weekend at Denali in July 2012. Our hotel had a brochure for Husky Homestead. Being a dog lover and rescuer, I just had to go! My husband (we work together) wasn't overly excited, "More dog stuff?" he said. Well, he was soon eating his words! We went, along with another guy from our squadron, and boy... More

This entire tour was a delight from start to finish! First of all, you get to snuggle lots of puppies--how could that be anything but wonderful? Then, you get an excellent presentation from Jeff and his staff, explaining how the dogs are trained, what is involved in racing, the gear required, etc. Listening to the joyous pandemonium of 35-40 sled...
