This like most of the park is best seen with the change of the light at sunrise and sunset. I prefer the afternoon to see the Artist's Drive. Get out and walk and see the plants and creatures that exist in this park. Each turn also gives a different color scheme fro the rock formations and the light. More

Interesting landscape, but there are much better elsewhere in Death Valley. The drive on the road is (one way) is the highlight, with it's twists, turns and dips. More

Not as fast as the road to Furnace Creek but very much more scenic. I would recommend this as a parallel road to the one you'd take anyway. Very enjoyable. More

Make sure you do this one way ride! It becomed very obvious how it got its name in the first mile. The rock colors and formatons are spectacular. The driving is not for the faint jearted. Go slowly! More

If you think of Death Valley and the heat - it sounds like it would be dusty and dirty. The drive showed almost every color under the rainbow - from greens to pinks to yellow. Worth the drive More

Recommend that you do this drive as the sun is setting. The colors are magnificent and change depending on how the light is hitting. More

This drive is just gorgeous. In a place where it's too hot to go for hikes, etc., this is the perfect alternative. It was relatively quiet and as it's a one-way road you can take your time going round it, stopping to look at the view. Do also take the detour drive to the Artist's Palette to see the unusual... This was one of the most thrilling and exciting drives I've ever been on. Twists, turns, amazing views. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a convertible! More
