This beautiful scenic drive around Acadia National Park was absolutely breathtaking. This was my second time back, and I hope to go back again. There are many side trails and short hikes that you can do as well, and a drive up to Cadillac Mountain. More

When you arrive to Acadia national park I would recommend to start with the park loop road. First and foremost it will allow you to orientate yourself with the veriouse attractions and views the park has to offer and might give you a better idea where you want to spend your time. It is a great, pleasant and beautiful drive... More

Where else can you see crashing waves, granite shores, pines and spruce coming down to the water, climbable "mountains," cliff climbers, woods, lakes and more in one short trip? Definitely part of the Acadia National Park experience. But expect lots of company on the road - most of it going very slowly to see the views. And take time to... More

We enjoyed an entire day driving the Park Loop Road and stopping at every point on the map. A friend loaned us a CD made especially for the drive that we could start and pause along the way. At times, we got out and walked an area just to enjoy the views. On a sunny day, the water glistens, and... More

It clears my mind. There is so much out there and it's constantly changing. I find it magical and restoring. Sometimes I get angry about signs telling me I can't go certain places off the Park Loop Road. It strikes me as a, "I'm too stupid to know better than to tell you to refrain from trespassing on public property,"... More

This is THE drive through the Park. Technically, it begins at the Visitor's Center, but there are access points at several places. The Park Loop Road has well-managed, clearly marked stops along its 20+ mile stretch, including Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, & Otter Cliffs, 3 of the Park's biggest attractions. Visitors can hike their choice from hundreds of trails or... More
