The scenery is heavenly. It takes quite some effort to get there from Lhasa and you might end up having altitude sickness as it climbs up to 5000 metres above sealevel on the way. But once when you get there you know it's worth it. Both the sky and lake are so blue that you begin to wonder if there... More

It's a beautiful lake more than looking like a mirror. Lake itself and the surrounding such as snow mountain range, blue sky and sandy beach etc are so attractive and wonderful to take photos. Hate the crowds and the rude maner of the horse riding business group who spoit the quiet and beautity of nature. Avoid the horse riding Beware... More

It's a pool of reflection. Reflection of the sky, of the light and of oneself. Staying overnight is the best thing to do as we can avoid the crowds of tourists from Lhasa staying for few hours and enjoy the breathless sunset. We stayed in the temporary accomodation, which provides comforatble beds for RMB180. (another choice would be RMB120) No... More

It is extremely beautiful and seems to connect with the blue sky. It is best to stay there for at least one day and one night as both its sunrise and sunset are very charming.

I think a fair bit of acclimatisation is recommended before attempting Namtso. A walk around (a side) of the lake is possible without exerting too much energy, but the best view of the lake and the surroundings is from a hill just beside the lake. It's an awesome walk up the hill with many Tibetan culture artifects to see along... More

There was too much snow to actually drive there on this trip, but we did get to see it from the train. It is an amazing sight and wished we could have seen it outside of the train. Would come back just to see it up close.
