The Beauty was the attraction itself.........And the beast? The roads that lead to it!!! Zero point is the last milestone on Indian civilian roads on this sector and was beauty.....A full hillslope of deep snow even in April and adults and children were making merry in equal measure. The drive was enchanting but bumpy indeed. It does tend to get... More

The trip to lachung and further to zero point is one of the best trips I have made in my life. Lachung is a 6 hour drive from Gangtok - about 120 odd Kms. The roads are your typical mountainous roads - winding, and not well maintained at some points. However, one must admit that the border roads organisation has... More

Its a must visit place. Everywhere you could see ice and ice. This place is on altitude of approx 14000 ft. but still you can easily bear the cold (if you visit in month of march/April/may). we visited this place on 9th April. Its an awesome experience. The way to this place is beautiful too. if you go in April... More

If you want to enjoy ice at comfortable temperatures, visit the place in March. In the month February, even snow fall can be enjoyed. To reach here one has to travel to amazing village of lachung from Gangtok. Staying at this village in itself is a bliss, Do try the local drink Tumba, made of millet, served on bamboo glasses.... The destination is amazing. All the trees and mountains were covered in snow. We experienced very good snowfall for 2 hrs while we were there. It was a very serene experience. The roads are bad but if one is prepared mentally, have a good vehicle and start early in the morning, there are no issues as you enjoy the travel... More

visiting Sikkim will be worthless if one misses this place. Its out of the world or can say in the lap of the clouds. Breath taking views all around. Only snow covered mountains clouds at an altitude of about 14500 ft. It feels as if we are in Heaven or as we hear in the fairy tales. Mind blowing.

Zero Point is nothing but a white desert through most of the time. You get snow all around and the place is just freezing. The chilled wind blows and make you feel like your limbs are not there. The place is a must visit if you are in Sikkim. Zero point is the ultimate point on this route, no one... More

The experience of reaching Zero Point is awesome. We travelled in the last week of Dece'12 and got snow all over the valley. We faced breathing problem over there as the altitude was nearly 16,500 ft above sea level. The views were majestic and it was worth the pain and long journey. The view of the snow capped himalayas and the... More

Travelling from Lachung to Yumtang is really adventurous, beautifully landscaped and amazingly beautiful. Don't miss visiting Zero Point in North Sikkim if you want to experience real Sikkim. It's rough raw nature in it's purest form. Snow covered mountains on all sides with lush green pine trees and beautiful lake in the middle of the Valley. You get opportunity to... More
