Had a most enjoyable Sunday morning stroll around the marshes. Well equipped hides, with easy access for wheelchair and buggy. We looked for the kingfishers but didn't see any :(. Lots to do for kids a free car park and wonderful staff. If you are a bird watcher it has its own unique attractions. As a photographer there is plenty to keep you amused. The cafe also serves fab home made cakes.

The RSPB acquired the marshes in 2006 and have created a spectacular birding reserve amongst the grim industrial wasteland of Purfleet and surrounds. We visited here soon after it opened . Great visitor centre and very helpful staff. easy to get around. The staff will help you to identify birds - we are novice twitchers.
