Go Tokyo provides the services of a knowledgeable volunteer to show around the Observation Deck the most interesting points of Tokyo on different topics : architecture , culture , finance , history and even sports ! This observation deck is located near the top of the building. Its free. How can you go wrong? The line moves quickly for the elevator and like everything in Japan is very efficient. I can't imagine paying ¥1000-1500 on the Tokyo Tower or the new Sky Tree (wasn't open yet in April 2012) when this place is there. I went... More

The views are fantastic but the area has many areas to purchase toys rather than souvenirs which would be more appropriate. On the day we went the temperature was unbearablely hot and had it not been free we would have complained as it was uncomfortable. Go for the views nothing else. More

There are two viewing points - north and south. North is better, in my opinion, because you can see Fuji on a clear day! Make sure you go up again when it's dark because it is fantastic! More

There are two observation platforms in the TMG : north and south. As they are both free of charge and next to each other, go to both - the views of Tokyo are breath taking. On a very bright day you can even see Mt. Fuji - but thats mostly in winter and I was not so lucky... More

The best time to go is right after a big rain storm. The air is clear and this is the best time to see Mt Fuji. If you want to get an idea of the actual size of the Tokyo Metro area a visit here is a must. The best part is that it is free. More

If you're wondering why Japan has the highest per capital government debt, look no further. This monstrous, castle-like mega complex, built at the behest of overpaid bureaucrats who wanted a cushy perch from which to spend their weekdays looking down on the worker ants who paid for it all. The upside is that the observation deck is free to the... More
