Shinjuku train station is one of the largest in the world and a VERY busy place. Beautiful architecture in a very modern part of the city. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. Lots of shopping right around the train station. Lots of electronics, but nothing in english and not a lot of english speaking staff in the stores. Take a map with you...

The west side of the train station is much more staid and NA looking. The east side is funky with lots of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. Department stores abound in this area

You can get lost in Shinjuku as it is massive! There a lot of buildings named the same but are of different category e.g. Isetan Men, Isetan Ladies, OIOI Marui, OIOI Men, etc. Having said this though, I found that access to luxury brands is better in Shibuya or maybe Ginza.

Shinjuku is Tokyo's neighborhood that never sleeps! Great shopping, dinning, nightlife, cultural and familiar stuff to do... Definitely the place to be and stay, a spot you can't miss!

It's a great place to base your Tokyo stay, as there are many interesting places nearby or are at least easily accessible with the Shibuya station. It can get insanely crowded though, and one might get overwhelmed when exploring the place with all the different shops!

many line stop at the shinjiku station, so it is convenient to use this place a base to explore the city. You can find concentration of department stores, good food, nightlife and parks all within walking distance! dont missed the free viewing tower.
