The west side of the train station is much more staid and NA looking. The east side is funky with lots of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. Department stores abound in this area More

You can get lost in Shinjuku as it is massive! There a lot of buildings named the same but are of different category e.g. Isetan Men, Isetan Ladies, OIOI Marui, OIOI Men, etc. Having said this though, I found that access to luxury brands is better in Shibuya or maybe Ginza. More

It's a great place to base your Tokyo stay, as there are many interesting places nearby or are at least easily accessible with the Shibuya station. It can get insanely crowded though, and one might get overwhelmed when exploring the place with all the different shops! More
