Kuala Kangsar is a very interesting place in between Ipoh and Taiping, well worth visiting for its very nice mosque (surrounded by pretty traditional house), an delicate old wooden palace as well as a few colonial buildings ( school, etc....) and a nice kids garden.

Amazing mosque, and you are alone there. Take a closer look to the cemetery next door. Consider taking a taxi on the way back

The mosque is an icon not only to Kuala Kangsar but to Malaysia as well. Built by British architects, it do reflected the more common mosque architecture built around that time. Go there during non-praying time since the parking space is available. Do respect the Muslims attending the pray but ask permission since I'm not sure is it ok for...
