The geese following me was really cute. Lovely place for children but I went in my own, paid £6 to get in and was there for less than an hour. Quite disappointed.

Brilliant day out for our family. My grandson age 21/2 was enthralled. Lots of animals and things to play on. Very kind staff.

We’ve been here a lot since the sun finally came out. The little farm area is lovely and animals healthy and happy. The play area is perfect for the little ones to run around with minimal supervision, the tyre swings are a favourite and the tunnel offers a perfect hiding spot. The kids love feeding the ducks and geese and the fish are huge!

For nature lovers, there are lots of butterflies of all different species.

We really do enjoy our time here and next year will be getting the season ticket.

Nice place but we only found out after we’d bought our ticket (£6 per person) dogs aren’t allowed in the nature reserve. There are no signs to tell customers this so they seem to rely on telepathy!!

I found this little gem of a place when I made a wrong turn. I'm very glad I did.

Very warm friendly welcome at reception. I had called up beforehand to enquire about camping, but decided a day visit would be easier first. The lady who answered was so helpful and explained all that we could expect from our visit. We weren't disappointed.

The entry rates are very reasonable to start. We had a delightful afternoon wandering the paths through a nature haven, with sheep, turkeys, pigs, miniature ponies along the way. We had bought a bag of fish food/duck food and had fun feeding both when we reached the lake.

Loved the little museum that demonstrates the life of the inventor of Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang. Unfortunately, due to it being a very hot day we couldn't stay in there too long, but it just means we'll have to go back to this lovely place. :)

Highly recommend for anyone who loves nature and peace.

Last visited when my son was a toddler over 30 years ago when it was a great day out for kids and adults alike. Took my grandson this weekend. How disappointing. Unhelpful at reception, entrance fee very over priced compared to Washbrook Farm, and very little to see. 5sheep, 3 pigs, 2 goats, 3 turkeys and 2 ponies. Fed the fish and ducks, best part of the day. Scruffy picnic area, untidy toilets, no place to put rubbish you have to take it home with you. Play facilities very limited. Thank goodness it was a quiet day. It’s a nature reserve - no excuse for being poorly maintained.

Out first visit today and we didn’t stay long due to my little one being a bit grumpy and tired but wanted to write a review of what we did and saw. We were welcomed by friendly staff and advised where to go to see new piglets! We made our way around the path to see piggies, goats and two very friendly shetland ponies (very cute) we then headed round to the play area which is vast and spread out with plenty to entertain active youngsters who want to run around and swing on the tyres. A tracker to climb and a land rover to “drive” and as well as swings and slides. We then wondered to the pond to feed the ducks and fish and then had a steady stroll back. Not a huge amount to see but what there is is done well and the animals all seem very happy. Overall a lovely way to spend a relaxing couple of hours so long as the weather is kind and we’ll definitely head back to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The picnic space looked great so we’ll also give that a try next time.

Arrived ahead of our daughters, son in laws and grandchildren . Paid admission charge of 2x£5 (over 60,s) and bought 75p duck and fish food. It had been threatening to rain so we asked if there was any indoor picnic area as there was a room with tables and chairs in view and we had a birthday cake with us . We were told there was a pic nic area outside only.
We went to check this out , 3/4 picnic benches and a sign saying no food beyond this point as you left . Walked up to the farm area , 1 sheep with lamb, 1 goat who would not come out of his house, a couple of ponies . Empty enclosures and empty pig sty’s . Signs everywhere saying do not feed or touch the animals . The ‘shaker garden’ was overgrown, weedy and unimpressive.
We walked up to the play area which was a large field with some teepees , an old land rover , tractor, few swings a climbing frame and several swings and activities made of tyres. I could see this could be appealing to children on a sunny day .
The best thing about this place was the decent wide flat footpath which is accessible to all but by this time the rest of the family arrived . We met them in the car park and with entry at £6 per adult and £5 per child over 3 we decided it was not worth £37 for them to get in when there was only a couple of hours to go and very little to see. It started raining heavily and we adjourned to the local garden centre cafe . There is very little here and it is poor value for money

Went there with my partner and granddaughter. Fortunately it was a sunny day as there was not much to see or do. We had a picnic and fed the fish. Not really worth the journey over. My partner seemed to remember it was a lot better years ago.
