We were so pleasantly surprised to see this hotel in National Gepgraphic Traveler months after we had stayed. It was the most delightful place in the most romantic town. The three girls stayed in the top floor of the stables in the most interesting room. It was HUGE and slept the three of them comfortably. We stayed downstairs in the... more
My partner and I stayed at this hotel whilst visiting the Chateaux of the Loire valley. We found it Charming and Elegant. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. It is the little touches that distinguish a good hotel form a great one, and Le Manoir les Minimes has them. The owners couldn't have been more helpful in advising where... more
Great location to explore the Loire Valley. So close to Leonardo's castle. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome, she was such a pleasure to meet, extremely helpful in suggesting sites, entertaining and .......her breakfasts were out of this world. The house was very charming and decorated with exquisite taste. I traveled there with family, teenagers... more
this is a very nice hotel and not very expensive. the only downside is that it is a little out of town. So long as you have a car this is the perfect place to explore Amboise and the surrounding region from. more
My fiancee and my parents spent a few days this past winter holiday season visiting castles in the Loire valley. The lodge is run by a very friendly family and we had a wonderful time there. The style of the lodge is definitely charming French country but that is exactly what we were looking for. We had dinner two nights... more
The main courses are very good with a reasonable price. We tried two different fish dishes and they were both very good. However, it took 1h10 between the time we finished the main course and the dessert. We complained, nicely at first (after 45 min.) and then a bit more strongly (after 60 min.). We eventually got our dessert that... more
Marvelous B&B. the service was fantastic and the room was amazing!! Amboise was my favorite small city in France more
I highly recommend this hotel as a base of operations for visiting the chateaux and other sites in the Loire Valley. Since it was low season, we had the Manoir (and pretty much anywhere else we went) virtually to ourselves and received plenty of personal attention from Pierre, the charming front desk clerk, the owners and resident dog Olga. Our... more
Mme Annick Delecheneau is the owner and manager of this "chambre d'hote", the most beautiful and historic of B&B's. She is most welcoming, kind and full of information and suggestions about this beautiful part of France, the Loire Valley. Her garden was a mass of roses and other blooms, and the house is surrounded by magnificent trees and has a... more
We spent a week in Amboise and L'Ecluse is our favorite restaurant. We had the three course option. FIrst course, salad with toasted bagettes which were spread with chevre and topped with thinly sliced fried zucchini. Next, white fish, rice and creamy ratatouille (amazing!) and last, a crepe filled with chocolate sauce. The restaurant is in a very pleasant setting,... more
My husband and I had a double room and our young adult daughter and her friend had a twin on the top floor. We found the hotel charming - granted there was no lift but that's not uncommon in France in these very old places probably because of space factors (it was built around late 1400s) Our rooms were clean... more
Stayed at this hotel in October for 2 nights - its located a little way up the hill from the river, maximum 5 minute drive. Loved the place, it had a really nice feel to it. The room was a good size (with a comfy bed) as was the bathroom. The only bad thing with the bathroom was that it... more
I recently stayed at Le Breche with my husband and two small children and we thought it was great. We booked their family room which was three interconnected rooms and a large bathroom. There was a great selection for breakfast which we really enjoyed. We had dinner in their restaurant both nights which was delicious and very well priced. The... more
It's a ok place to stay. We stayed on the only room available and this was not the best room in the hotel. I supose the other rooms were better, as biger and nicer furniture. The bathroom was ok, clean and spacious. Nice dining and livingroom. Friendly staff. more
The hotel is located in a converted bourgeois mansion in an old section of Amboise. Our room, described as a Comfort level room, was quite large with sofa, chairs, coffee table, queen-size bed, and a desk. The bathroom was large, with a tub, and there was adequate closet space for two. Internet service was excellent. The room looked out on... more
The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and very tastefully decorated. The B&B is centrally located in Amboise and very quiet. The breakfast is great. The owner is a gem -- friendly and helpful. more
Our stay at this beautifully restored 18th century manor house was brilliant. We stayed in the wonderful "Le Maison de Gardien" attached to the main house. The manor is ideally located in Amboise, not to far from shopping or restaurants. Our gracious hosts, went out of their way, in providing, touring info, great restaurant recommendations and bookings etc. Amboise is... more
A visit to the Loire Valley with it's terrific mix of castles and vinyards is a joy to be repeated many times over. And each time in the future, we will make absolutely certain that we spend a week with Gloria and Bob at Le Vieux Manoir. Easily the best B and B we have ever visited. Magnificently appointed, and... more
